My favorite news story all week: “The Provincetown Bean is actually from Spain. John Dos Passos, the author, picked up the seed when he was fighting in the Spanish Civil War and brought the seed to Provincetown where the beans are still grown, although Ford has been unable to corral them for the seed library.”
I’m on a quest for these seeds! Literally, the seeds of my heritage. What a rich heirloom!
The 3rd Biennial John Dos Passos Society Conference was held June 20-22, 2018 at the Geographical Society of Lisbon. It was a marvelous success. Thanks everyone! For more information about the Society, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
“About style—I think that reading people in order to get ‘style’ from them is rather soft-headed. Your style is like the color of your hair or the cut of your pants—half accident, half act of God—to take thought to change or improve it results usually in rank affectation.”
