JDP legacy news has been at king tide lately. On Twitter, I found a very rare audio recording of John Dos Passos reading from U.S.A. and discussing the influences on him as a young artist. 1965 at the 92nd Street Y in NYC.
The reading, of course, is before a live audience. It’s interesting hearing their laughter at his reading of the Isadora Duncan vignette. Yes, much of his satire was quite funny.
I’ll try to procure the original file so it can facilitate scholarly research and expand general appreciation of his work.
